Oni is a mysterious label led by Oishi-san, who has devoted over 60 years to denim. Always pursuing perfection, he focuses exclusively on production. As such, the brand has no official website or social media accounts, and is distributed only in a select few stores worldwide, including Flâneurs in France.
The 822 18oz Olive Drab is made from exceptional selvedge denim, renowned for ONI's mastery of heavy, low-tension fabrics. The warp thread is dyed Olive Drab while the weft remains natural beige, creating subtle tonal variations and a unique patina potential over time.
This fabric is produced on shuttle looms set to very low tension (low tension), resulting in an extremely textured and lively denim. Combined with irregular cotton threads, the fabric has a pronounced surface texture, even more expressive than a standard slub. This technique gives the jeans natural flexibility and comfortable wear.
The 822 features a Super Wide Tapered fit: generous at the hips and thighs, tapering slightly towards the leg opening. This modern silhouette highlights the denim's texture and the depth of the Olive Drab color, offering a perfect balance of comfort, style, and artisanal authenticity.
