Description

For this new season, our knitwear collection officially becomes Flâneurs Knitwear. The sweater itself remains exactly the same as the one you've come to know: fully made in Scotland, knitted using a seamless construction from the renowned Shetland wool produced by the Scottish spinner Gardiner. Only its identity has evolved, allowing this essential piece to become a permanent part of our own collection.

For this collection, we offer 17 colourways:

- Returning colours: Evergreen / Pheasant / Ocean / Petrel / Pebble / Terracotta / Lavender / Pink Lavender / Stonewash

- 7 new colours: Fen / Sea Pink / Siskin / Antique / Redstart / Storm / Greenfinch

As in previous seasons, every sweater features our signature Shaggy finish and is knitted using the Shetland wool from Gardiner, a Scottish spinner we hold in particularly high regard. Having worked with and tested many different wool qualities over the years, this remains one of our favourites thanks to its outstanding balance of warmth, lightness, breathability and durability. Combined with the expertise of Scotland's historic knitwear manufacturers, it results in a sweater entirely made in Scotland and designed to be worn for many years.

The seamless construction, knitted as a single piece without any seams, combined with the distinctive Shaggy brushing process, gives the sweater its characteristic fuzzy appearance and exceptional comfort. The brushing is carried out using wild teasels (Dipsacus Fullonum), whose dried flower heads have long been used as natural brushes for finishing wool. Despite its relatively open knit structure, this sweater provides remarkable insulation while remaining breathable, making it an essential layer as soon as temperatures begin to drop.

Why we selected it

We love this sweater for the way it combines Scottish knitting tradition with modern comfort. The quality of Gardiner Shetland wool, the seamless construction and the signature Shaggy finish make it, in our opinion, one of the finest Shetland sweaters available today. A timeless piece that we are proud to now offer under our own Flâneurs Knitwear label.
