Although the brand was founded relatively recently, in 2013, Batoner is the in-house label of the knitting mill Okuyama Meriyasu, established in the 1950s. Batoner, meaning “a person who inherits,” proudly represents the near-century-old craftsmanship of Japan’s Yamagata prefecture, which for many years gathered the country’s finest knitwear manufacturers. Today, only around fifteen remain active, each striving to preserve the techniques and traditions that have built the region’s reputation.


The Pure Mohair Signature Crew Neck from Batoner embodies the excellence of Japanese high-end knitwear. Made from 100% super-kid mohair, this sweater offers a luxurious texture, elegant sheen and exceptional warmth. Super-kid mohair comes from the very first shearing of angora goat kids: its fibres, exceptionally fine and soft, are renowned for their lightness, durability and natural lustre. This rare and precious material provides superior comfort, without any itchiness.


Its straight fit and raglan sleeves ensure optimal comfort, while the reinforced ribbed finishes guarantee lasting structure. The Olive colour adds a sophisticated touch to this timeless piece, perfect for getting through winter with elegance and ease.
