Description

The New Deck Jacket takes its inspiration from US Navy deck jackets, originally designed to protect sailors exposed to cold and harsh weather aboard military vessels. Manifattura Ceccarelli retains the short silhouette, protective construction and functional details of this utilitarian outerwear tradition while adapting them for contemporary everyday wear.

The outer shell is made from robust waxed cotton. The treatment gives the fabric water-repellent properties while retaining the feel and character associated with a natural cotton cloth. With wear and friction, its surface will gradually evolve and develop a patina unique to each jacket.

Warmth is primarily provided by a wool-rich body lining composed of 90% wool and 10% polyester. The sleeves combine virgin wool padding with a smooth Cupro lining, making the jacket easier to slip on over knitwear or additional layers. The collar is also lined with alpaca wool for additional softness and warmth around the neck.

The construction remains true to the model's utilitarian origins, with two hand pockets, a secure zipped interior pocket, concealed elasticated cuffs and underarm ventilation eyelets. The central closure combines a two-way zip with a buttoned storm flap, while a throat latch allows the collar to be secured in a raised position for additional protection. An internal drawcord at the hem provides further adjustment and helps reduce cold air entering from below.

Fit & Sizing

The New Deck Jacket features a short, structured cut, making it more compact than the parkas and coats traditionally offered by Manifattura Ceccarelli. It nevertheless retains enough room to comfortably accommodate knitwear or a mid-layer underneath.

We recommend choosing your usual size to retain the balance of comfort, insulation and silhouette intended by the brand. The internal drawcord at the hem can then be used to slightly adjust the volume according to the desired fit.
