The C.P.O. (Chief Petty Officer) jacket was the uniform worn by the quartermasters of the U.S. Navy starting in the 1930s. It is a typical hybrid military jacket/shirt model, usually offered in thick Melton wool with characteristic patched pockets on each side of the chest.
This version offered by Japan Blue Jeans is crafted from 13oz non-selvedge denim woven from organic cotton, both soft and durable. The warp (outer) and weft (inner) threads have received a deep black sulfur dye. Thanks to the dyeing technique used, known as "rope dye", it will fade over time, allowing for a patina with varied grayish nuances. This time, the stitching has been done tone-on-tone to offer more minimalism and versatility.
Its thick fabric makes it ideal not only as a shirt but also as a light outer layer in spring and autumn. Equipped with two large prominent flap pockets on the chest, it is versatile enough to fit a wide range of styles, from military to casual.
