Seuvas is a young Japanese label based in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. Inspired by workwear and military attire, the brand offers garments made from exceptional canvas by Takeyari, a local manufacturer producing this material for 130 years. Seuvas thus offers jackets, shirts, and trousers in natural canvas in its permanent collection, cutting and sewing all the garments themselves in their own workshop in Kurashiki using vintage sewing machines.

The Japanese label naturally opts for a 10oz canvas made in Kojima, Japan. A true signature of the brand since its inception, the canvas is known and recognized for its durability and strength over time. One of the distinctive features of the canvas used by Seuvas is the fabric's surface speckled with fine particles of cotton husks, which add a certain flair to this jacket. Another notable feature is the brand's addition of a unique detail to each of its garments: the collar button. It is a handmade porcelain button made from clay ore mined in the town of Amakusa, in Kimamoto Prefecture, Japan. Amakusa pottery stone is a historic pottery stone, used in Japanese pottery since the 17th century. These porcelain buttons, specially designed for Seuvas, are traditionally made in Amakusa.

This straight-cut shirt, comfortable to wear year-round, is distinguished by its atypical raglan sleeves that enhance ease of movement. The chest pocket features a sewn flap that keeps it closed without needing a button and is sewn lower on one side for easier pocket access. The apparent simplicity of this shirt is enhanced by subtle details that represent the meticulousness and professionalism of the Japanese manufacturer.
