The upper is crafted from smooth black kip leather, a Japanese leather known for its softness and refined texture. Produced by the Sanyo tannery in Himeji, it provides an excellent balance between immediate comfort and durability, while maintaining a clean and understated appearance. The Goodyear welt construction ensures long-lasting wear and allows for resoling, extending the lifespan of the shoe.
