Reproduction of Found ("ROF") is a brand of the Japanese group Eye Found Co. Ltd created in 2016.
The primary goal of the brand is to reproduce shoes and sneakers from the 1950s to the 1990s. It has specialized particularly in training sneakers from various world armies: Canadian, French, American, German, British, and Russian.
This model is a reinterpretation of the iconic German Army Trainer, often abbreviated as GAT. The origin of this model dates back to the 1970s, when the German Federal Army ("Bundeswehr" or "BW") intended to order half a million sneakers resistant to the intensive training of its battalions. Two major German brands then competed for this contract: Adidas and Puma.
The model we know today did come into existence, but the archives of the time do not allow to determine which brand originated it, and the mystery remains unsolved to this day, with the narratives of the various participants continuing to fuel the legend.
