With the Reversible Pile Socks, ROTOTO translates the concept of American reversible college T-shirts from the 1970s into a thick sock that can genuinely be worn on either side. Two different coloured cotton yarns are used for the inside and outside, allowing the appearance to change completely when the sock is turned inside out. D.Brown/Pink Beige plays on the contrast between a deep brown and a much softer pinkish beige tone.

Description

The Reversible Pile Socks draw their inspiration from American reversible college T-shirts from the 1970s. ROTOTO takes the principle behind their construction and applies it to a sock that can genuinely be worn on either side.

The model is knitted on the same type of machine used for the Double Face Crew Socks, but features different coloured cotton yarns on the inside and outside. Turning the sock inside out changes the dominant colour while making the looped pile surface more prominent, creating a more textured and cushioned appearance.

This construction also provides substantial thickness and cushioning. With a 90% cotton composition, the socks retain a soft feel while offering an enveloping sensation particularly well suited to the cooler months.

The Reversible Pile Socks are made in Japan, drawing on the specialist hosiery expertise of the workshops ROTOTO works with.

Fit & Sizing

The Reversible Pile Socks feature a thick and substantial construction. Their pile surface provides plenty of softness and cushioning but also creates more volume than a conventional sock, something worth considering with particularly close-fitting footwear.

Size S corresponds to EU sizes 37 to 40, Size M to EU sizes 41 to 44, while Size L is suitable for EU size 44 and above.

Why We Selected It

The genuinely reversible construction is what makes this model particularly interesting. This is more than simply a sock with two different-looking surfaces: turning the pair inside out changes both its dominant colour and appearance, with the pile side providing a much more pronounced texture. A playful concept that remains entirely focused on comfort.

The D.Brown/Pink Beige combination makes particularly good use of the reversible construction. Dark brown provides a warm and understated side, while the pinkish beige creates a much softer and brighter appearance when the sock is reversed.
