A true staple offered by Rototo each summer, the Linen Cotton Socks series is updated with French linen and high-quality organic cotton, while keeping the same design and manufacturing method as the original. The long-fiber linen used here is produced in Normandy, one of the most renowned regions for this material, and the organic cotton yarn is produced through a unique and abrasion-resistant spinning method called compact spinning. Knitted using a special technique, these socks feature a soft cotton lining and a refreshing linen surface, providing great comfort. The simple design pairs perfectly with any outfit, while a wide range of colors offers great aesthetic flexibility.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in Japan's largest sock-producing region, Nara Prefecture. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after studying abroad.
ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and product use. These can be rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitters or, conversely, modern high-tech tools."
ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsmanship.
"Preserving the tradition inherited from previous generations, while painting the future with a fresh perspective. We will continue to strive to produce things that can only be created here."
