These Pile Stripe Marl socks, inspired by outdoor styles, are primarily knitted with organic cotton. The ribbed finishes, combined with two contrasting stripes, make them a perfect sock to pair with a casual outfit, while the brushed inside of the sole part provides a unique fleece-like sensation, characteristic of the Japanese brand, and excellent moisture absorption.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in Japan's largest sock-producing region, Nara Prefecture. The area has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial sock production was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) brought a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after a study trip to the country.
ROTOTO places great importance on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and product use. This may include rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, on the contrary, modern high-tech tools."
ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman's expertise.
