This Lot. 4603 Football T-Shirt from Warehouse & Co. is inspired by the design of vintage football jerseys, featuring a minimalist look enhanced by an overlock seam across the back and chest as well as three-quarter length sleeves. It is crafted from their signature loopwheel jersey, woven at low tension from yarns with pronounced irregularity.

The high standards of Warehouse & Co. pushed them to seek out the best machines capable of producing these decidedly vintage-looking t-shirts. They chose a loom from the 1960s initially used for producing ribbed underwear with thick yarn. This machine allows them to preserve the natural irregularity of the cotton threads and to combine a unique texture with undeniable durability. The so-called "Loopwheeler" machines weave cotton with very low thread tension, thus producing a unique and superior quality fabric for a final result that is soft and comfortable. There are only about 400 of these machines left in Wakayama, Japan, and only half of them are commonly used. These machines were the standard between the 1920s and 1960s, until these manufacturing methods, considered too slow and costly, gave way to the efficiency of modern machines and reduced production costs.
