The Daddy's Chino holds a particular place in the Sugar & Co. collection as the first chino developed by the Japanese label. Drawing inspiration from American trousers of the 1980s, particularly more refined pleated designs, it differs from traditional military chinos through its carefully considered silhouette. The result retains the practicality of everyday trousers while offering a more elegant appearance, reflecting the brand's distinctive approach to menswear.

Made from 100% cotton twill, the fabric features a lightly brushed surface that adds softness and depth. It combines a structured feel with a supple hand, while a subtle sheen recalls vintage American chinos. Construction details, particularly the stitching, draw inspiration from 1980s manufacturing techniques. The Olive colourway introduces a utilitarian influence, recalling traditional military shades without turning the design into conventional workwear.

The construction features two inward-facing pleats that provide additional room through the hips and thighs, while the leg gradually narrows towards the hem.
