The centerpiece of our collaboration with Le Minor, this Noragi represents the perfect junction between Breton marine wardrobes and traditional Japanese attire. It not only highlights the connections Le Minor and Flâneurs have with Japan, but also symbolizes the authentic workwear of the Japanese rural class. This garment was particularly used in agriculture ("nora" = field / "gi" = uniform), thus belonging to the workwear wardrobe, a field in which Le Minor excels with robust, utilitarian, and timeless pieces.
For this reinterpretation, we have readapted the modern Noragi, offering it in one of Le Minor's iconic knits: the Milano knit, previously seen on their Blazer and Coach Jacket. This is one of the most noble knitting stitches, very structured, very time-consuming to knit, providing a true drape to the garment. To be more precise, the body and sleeves are knitted in Milano stitch, unlike the collar band which is done in a more classic 1x1 rib. This rib offers more flexibility, wraps neatly around the neck, like a shawl collar would, and its width adds more structure to the garment as a whole.
The straight cut, generous in its volumes, will easily pair with thicker winter pieces, but will also work in mid-season over a t-shirt or shirt. For added practicality, 2 diagonally opening patch pockets have been added and lined with robust cotton to enhance their durability and prevent deformation from repeated use. Wishing to maintain the minimalism inherent in the authentic Noragi, we opted for a tie cord as closure, replacing the traditional buttonholes of cardigans.
Our Le Minor x Flâneurs noragi runs large due to its intentionally oversized cut.
You can choose your usual size, or one size down if you prefer a slightly more fitted look without sacrificing comfort.
Please note that due to the natural elasticity of the knit, these measurements are indicative and may vary slightly from one size or model to another.
In the photos, Maxime is 1.83m tall, weighs 80kg, and wears size L for a loose and comfortable fit.
