A true iconic piece from the Korean brand FrizmWorks, the Karakoram Down Parka has become a staple over the seasons. It is a modern reinterpretation of the famous Karakoram parka created by Eddie Bauer in 1953 at the request of Charles Houston, a seasoned mountaineer who aimed to climb K2, the world's second-highest peak, part of the Karakoram mountain range. It was under these circumstances that this historic parka was born, designed for the extreme conditions of what mountaineers call the "Death Zone," located above 8000 meters in altitude.

This parka stands out for its warmth and robustness. Its resistant outer shell combines cotton and nylon for greater durability, while its insulation is provided by duck down enhanced with feathers, offering excellent heat retention, good breathability, and significant compressibility for easy packing and transportation.

In terms of details, the parka features two large double flap pockets with buttons at the front and back, an adjustable hood equipped with a visor and a metal rod for better support, and a zip closure reinforced with a button placket to keep the cold out, just like the ribbed cuffs on the sleeves. Numerous drawstrings also allow for adjusting the fit as desired.

Its relatively loose and comfortable fit allows for easy layering with the Karakoram. This Orange version nods to the original color, a vibrant and bright hue that ensures visibility in the mountains when necessary.
