A true iconic piece from the Korean brand FrizmWorks, the Karakoram Down Parka has established itself as a staple over the seasons. It is a modern reinterpretation of the famous Karakoram parka created by Eddie Bauer in 1953 at the request of Charles Houston, an experienced mountaineer who aimed to climb K2, the world's second highest peak, which is part of the Karakoram mountain range. This historic parka was born under these circumstances, designed for the extreme conditions of what mountaineers call the "Death Zone", located beyond 8000 meters in altitude.

This parka stands out for its warmth and durability. Its tough outer shell combines cotton and nylon for greater durability, while its insulation is provided by a duck down and feather padding, offering excellent heat retention, good breathability, and significant compressibility for easy storage and transport.

In terms of details, the parka features two large double flap pockets with button closures at the front and back, an adjustable hood equipped with a visor and a metal rod for better structure, as well as a zip closure reinforced by a button placket to prevent cold air from seeping in, just like the ribbed edges that hold the cuffs. Numerous drawstrings also allow for adjusting the fit according to the desired look.

Its relatively loose and comfortable fit allows for easy layering with the Karakoram. This Dark Green version with its deep hue unmistakably recalls the military world dear to the Korean manufacturer.
