Reproduction of Found ("ROF") is a brand of the Japanese company Eye Found Co. Ltd established in 2016.
The primary goal of the brand is to reproduce shoes and sneakers from the 1950s to the 1990s. It specializes particularly in training sneakers used by various world armies: Canadian, French, American, German, British, or Russian.
This model is a reinterpretation of the iconic German Army Trainer, often abbreviated as GAT. The origin of this model dates back to the 1970s when the German Federal Army ("Bundeswehr" or "BW") wanted to order half a million sneakers resistant to the intensive training of its battalions. Two major German brands then competed for this contract: Adidas and Puma.
The model we know today was indeed produced, but the archives of the time do not allow us to determine which house originated it, and the mystery remains unresolved to this day, with the narratives of the participants continuing to fuel the legend.
This version offered by ROF retains the design of the upper part, made from flexible suede leather. The outsole, on the other hand, differs from the original, replaced here by a BW SPORTS sole. The models offered by ROF are among the best reproductions of this kind and offer great durability combined with immediate comfort.
