These city socks from ROTOTO are made from knitted merino wool, providing pleasant cushioning and better heat retention. To enhance durability and anti-abrasion properties, the fabric is knitted while being coated with a special blend of cotton. Despite the presence of wool, they can be washed safely.

ROTOTO socks are manufactured in Japan's largest sock-producing region, Nara Prefecture. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial sock production was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after studying abroad in the country.

ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with artisans to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and the use of the product. This can include rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or on the contrary, modern high-tech tools."

The ROTOTO socks can only be manufactured by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsmen's expertise.
