These double-faced socks have been part of the ROTOTO collection since the brand was founded.

Designed with inspiration from mountaineering socks, they are made from a material that mixes merino wool on the outside with undyed organic cotton on the inside. This combination gives the soft and snug sensation of wearing a sweatshirt on your feet.

ROTOTO socks are made in the largest sock-producing region in Japan, the Nara prefecture. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial sock production was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) brought a loom from the United States to his hometown after a study trip to the country.

ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with artisans to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines depending on the type of material and the use of the product. This can involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, on the other hand, modern high-tech tools."

ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the artisan's expertise.
