These double face socks have been part of the ROTOTO collection since the brand’s inception.

Designed with inspiration from mountaineering socks, they are made from a material that mixes merino wool on the outside with undyed organic cotton on the inside. This provides the soft and cushiony sensation of a sweatshirt on your feet.

ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest sock-producing region of Japan, Nara Prefecture. This region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial sock production was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the then-village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after his study trip to the country.

ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose knitting machines based on the material type and product use. This can involve rare machines that serve a specific purpose, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, conversely, modern high-tech tools."

The ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsmanship of the artisan.
