Based on the design of the "tube socks" made in the USA in the late 70s, these ribbed socks from ROTOTO are produced on an old special knitting machine, which is hard to find nowadays, using low-tension soft cotton yarns. The inside of the sole part is brushed for a unique fluffy feeling, characteristic of the Japanese brand.

ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest sock-producing region of Japan, Nara Prefecture. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the USA to his hometown after his study trip in the country.

ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and the use of the product. This can involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or alternatively, cutting-edge high-tech tools."

ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman's know-how.

"Preserving the tradition inherited from previous generations, while painting the future with a fresh outlook. We will continue to try to produce things that can only be created here."
