Based on the design of the "tube socks" made in the United States in the late 70s, these ribbed socks from ROTOTO are made on an old special knitting machine, which is hard to find nowadays, using low-tension soft cotton yarns. The inside of the sole part is brushed for a unique fleecy feeling, distinctive to the Japanese brand.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest sock-producing region of Japan, Nara Prefecture. The area has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. The industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910, when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after his study trip to the country.
ROTOTO places great value on cooperation in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and the use of the product. This can include rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or on the contrary, modern high-tech tools.
