A key piece in our collaboration with Le Minor, this Noragi represents the perfect intersection between the Breton maritime wardrobe and traditional Japanese workwear. It not only highlights the strong ties both Le Minor and Flâneurs maintain with Japan, but also pays tribute to the authentic work garment of Japan’s rural class. Originally used in agriculture (“nora” = field / “gi” = uniform), the noragi belongs to the workwear universe—an area in which Le Minor excels through its robust, utilitarian, and timeless pieces.
For this reinterpretation, we have adapted the modern Noragi using one of Le Minor’s signature knits: the Milano knit, previously seen on their Blazer and Coach Jacket. It is one of the most refined knitting techniques—highly structured and time-consuming to produce—giving the garment a genuine drape. More precisely, the body and sleeves are knitted in Milano stitch, while the collar band is made in a more traditional 1x1 rib. This rib provides additional flexibility, gently wrapping around the neck like a shawl collar, while its width enhances the overall structure of the piece.
The straight cut, generous in volume, pairs easily with heavier winter pieces but also works well mid-season over a t-shirt or shirt. For added practicality, two slanted patch pockets have been added and reinforced with sturdy cotton linings to ensure durability and prevent deformation from frequent use. In keeping with the minimalism of the authentic Noragi, we chose a drawstring closure instead of the traditional buttoned cardigan finish.
Our Le Minor x Flâneurs noragi runs large due to its intentionally oversized cut.
You can choose your usual size, or one size down if you prefer a slightly more fitted look without sacrificing comfort.
Please note that due to the natural elasticity of the knit, these measurements are indicative and may vary slightly from one size or model to another.
In the photos, Maxime is 1.83m tall, weighs 80kg, and wears size L for a loose and comfortable fit.
