The S211AX “AI‑BENKEI” is a premium interpretation of Samurai’s 18oz denim, available exclusively outside Japan, blending natural indigo-dyed “AI” cotton with “Benkei” fibers for a rich texture and deep overall hue. The weft combines Japanese cotton from the Samurai Cotton Project and high-quality American cotton. This jean features a Relax Tapered fit with a high rise, offering room at the thigh and a gradual taper toward the ankle for perfect balance between comfort and modern silhouette.
The “AI‑BENKEI” denim is distinguished by a deep indigo color and a remarkable slubby and neppy texture, achieved with natural and synthetic indigo-dyed threads woven on traditional shuttle looms. Sophisticated details include iron buttons with a “Matsunoki” design, engraved copper rivets, specially printed jacquard pocket lining, and a thick indigo-dyed cow leather patch that highlights the premium nature of the piece. The fabric is one‑washed to minimize size variations while maintaining strong fade potential.
