Oni is a mysterious label run by a true denim enthusiast who has dedicated 60 years of his life to denim. Always pursuing perfection, Oishi-san is in constant research and focuses exclusively on production. That is why you will not find an official website or Instagram page for the brand. It is also why the label is distributed in only a few select stores worldwide and exclusively through Flâneurs in France.
The 270 represents an entirely new fit in the Japanese manufacturer’s lineup, a classic New Regular Straight silhouette with controlled volume from the hips to the knees, subtly tapered down to the leg opening for a versatile straight drape. Constructed in one of ONI’s most expressive fabrics, this jean combines traditional design with the unique texture and depth of KASE denim.
The KASE denim, weighing 16oz, features highly irregular "slub" cotton yarns and pronounced grain, achieved through deep natural indigo dye inspired by kase-zome. This gives the fabric rich tonal variation and strong potential for dramatic fading over time. The jeans are offered in one-wash, ready to wear with controlled shrinkage while retaining the raw character of the denim.
Traditional five-pocket construction is complemented by the meticulous craftsmanship of ONI, illustrated by riveted stress points, durable chain-stitch construction, and selvedge detailing visible on the coin pocket. Made in Japan, these jeans are aimed at denim enthusiasts seeking a robust, textured, and character-rich piece.
