Portuguese Flannel values quality over quantity. The brand uses exclusive fabrics, made in a traditional manner and produced in certified Portuguese textile companies. All pieces are then shaped in the north of Portugal. The collections are also made from natural materials such as cotton, linen, or wool. The same goes for the buttons, which are made of corozo or mother-of-pearl. Portugal and the family history of the two brothers who founded Portuguese Flannel play an important role in the creation of the collections. Coming from a family that has been producing textiles for four generations, Manuel and António aim to evolve the way the world sees their country, a place of value and authenticity.
Here, we find a classic shirt, with an American collar and a chest pocket. It is offered in Brushed Oxford, a brushed Oxford fabric that brings texture to the material and makes it seem like a "light flannel". The particularity of the weaving of Oxford shirts is having dyed warp threads and white weft threads. The result is a twill weave (a method of interlacing threads) that provides a softer and less saturated hue. The brushed effect also results in a less pronounced color than a classic Oxford.
This one is crafted in a mix of vertical white and "Blue" stripes (which leans more towards blue/gray).
