Room Socks from ROTOTO are real slipper/socks. They have been developed using a machine specially designed to produce various types of socks for skiers, mountain rescue teams, and fishermen. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of removing shoes when entering a home, they are thick, warm, and comfortable, made to be worn without shoes. Enhanced with non-slip inscriptions on the bottom, they will brilliantly accompany your relaxing moments at home. The pattern draws its inspiration from traditional Native American textiles, thus adding a complementary, original, and colorful touch.
It is strongly advised to avoid the tumble dryer which could cause shrinkage.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest producing region of Japan, Nara Prefecture. The region has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after his study trip to the country.
ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines depending on the type of material and the usage of the product. It can be rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, on the contrary, modern high-tech tools."
The ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman's know-how.
