Oni is a mysterious label behind which hides a true enthusiast who has devoted 60 years of his life to denim. Always in search of perfection, Oishi-san is constantly researching and dedicated solely to production. This is why you will find neither a website nor an official Instagram page for the brand. It is also for this reason that the label is distributed only in a few stores around the world and exclusively at Flâneurs for France.

Based on the "Secret Super Rough Denim" which was a big success the previous year, the Japanese label offers us with the Crushed Concrete a lighter 15oz version, made from the same warp and weft yarns, thus achieving the same slub and neppy texture as its predecessor. This type of fabric is impossible to produce on modern machines, as the shuttle looms must be set to a very low tension to create this fabric. This low tension, called "low tension," literally makes the machines vibrate during the manufacture of the denim. By combining this weaving technique with the use of a naturally irregular yarn, the fabric becomes even more textured than a classic slub. However, few manufacturers dare to venture there, as this technique is difficult to master.

The Japanese treatment "Tempi" (a wash and sun drying) also adds character to the fabric and makes it more comfortable, while significantly reducing the risk of shrinkage usually observed on an unsanforized fabric like this one. Here, as the American cotton is thinner than on the "Secret Super Rough Denim", the indigo dye is slightly darker and more intense, which will also allow a more pronounced fading over time and washes.

The 622 is a Relaxed Tapered fit, with a medium rise that fits snugly, followed by a comfortable thigh opening to finish with a tapered leg from the knee down.
