These ROTOTO socks, featuring a classic Leopard pattern, are made from a velvety fabric ("pile"), smooth on the outside and looped on the inside. Thick and fluffy, these socks provide comfort and enhanced cushioning, whether in a pair of sneakers or in boots.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in the largest producing region of Japan, Nara Prefecture. The area has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. Industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910, when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after a study trip to the country.
ROTOTO places great value on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines according to the type of material and the use of the product. It could be rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or on the contrary, modern high-tech tools.
The ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman’s know-how.
"Preserving the tradition inherited from previous generations while painting the future with a fresh outlook. We will continue to try to produce things that can only be created here."
