These ROTOTO socks, with a classic Leopard pattern, are made from a velour fabric ("pile"), smooth on the outside and looped on the inside. Thick and plush, these socks guarantee comfort and better cushioning, whether in a pair of sneakers or boots.
ROTOTO socks are manufactured in Japan’s largest sock-producing region, Nara Prefecture. The area has been renowned for its quality textiles since the 17th century. The industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910 when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine to his hometown from the United States after studying abroad.
ROTOTO places great emphasis on collaboration in its product development: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose knitting machines based on the type of material and the product usage. This may involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, on the contrary, modern high-tech tools."
The ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman's know-how.
