Description

Based in Scotland, Harley of Scotland is one of the few remaining manufacturers specialising in genuine seamless knitwear. Rather than assembling individual panels, each sweater is knitted as a single continuous piece, eliminating side seams and significantly improving comfort, durability and freedom of movement.

This sweater is knitted from premium Supersoft Shetland Wool spun by J.C. Rennie at Milladen Mill in Scotland. Carefully selected for its fine handle while retaining the natural qualities of traditional Shetland wool, the yarn offers excellent insulation, remarkable durability and outstanding breathability, making it ideal for everyday wear throughout the colder months.

The signature Shaggy finish is achieved by brushing the completed sweater once using a natural teasel (Dipsacus Fullonum), a dried thistle that has been used in wool mills for centuries. Unlike modern metal brushes, the flexible hooks of the teasel gently raise the fibres without damaging them, creating a soft, lightly fuzzy surface that enhances warmth, texture and depth while preserving the integrity of the wool.
