The Cerasus Quartz Bandana by One Ear Brand is part of the brand’s artistic approach, where each bandana is conceived as a fully realized graphic piece. The “Cerasus” motif, named after the Latin term for cherry tree, pays tribute to sakura, one of the most iconic symbols in Japanese culture, associated with fleeting beauty and the concept of mono no aware, the sensitivity to impermanence and the passage of time.
The design was created in collaboration with a guest artist, offering a contemporary and slightly psychedelic interpretation of a traditional theme. The composition remains rooted in classic bandana codes while introducing subtle details such as blossoming flowers and drifting petals, enhancing the narrative dimension of the motif.
The fabric is high-quality cotton, woven on traditional looms and processed using artisanal techniques. Each piece is individually printed and assembled in the Kansai region, resulting in slight variations that give every bandana its own unique character. This construction, often paired with selvedge finishing, ensures both durability and authenticity.
With its 70×70 cm format, this bandana can be worn in multiple ways: around the neck, as headwear, or as a functional accessory in the spirit of Furoshiki (a traditional Japanese square-cloth wrapping technique).
