The Sakana Mosaic Tile Bandana by One Ear Brand is a highly narrative graphic piece, conceived as a true textile artwork. The motif features a series of stylized fish arranged in a mosaic-like composition, playing with forms, textures, and visual rhythms inspired by Japanese aquatic culture.
Each bandana is printed and assembled in Japan in the Kansai region, using high-quality cotton woven on traditional looms. The production process is fully artisanal, including hand printing, stitching, and finishing, giving each piece subtle variations and a unique character.
The design, signed by artist Yurika Shikai, explores an aesthetic positioned between traditional Japanese art and contemporary influences. Here, the “Sakana” (fish) motif is treated as a decorative, almost architectural composition, evoking a textile mosaic where each element interacts with the whole.
Designed both as an accessory and a collectible object, this bandana can be worn, used as a scarf, or repurposed as a Furoshiki (a traditional Japanese fabric folding and wrapping technique) for carrying or wrapping objects. It perfectly embodies One Ear Brand’s philosophy: transforming a utilitarian object into a medium for cultural and artistic expression.
